Experience the beauty of the spring wildflowers in bloom on this one-mile hike of the Redbud Trail. Attendees won’t be able to see all of Missouri’s 1,500 species, but they will leave this hike with the skills to identify some common spring wildflowers.

Join Bob Johnson, Department of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, for a fungus filled day at the park. This foray will focus on exploring the diversity of fungi that exists in the park. Attendees will collect specimens and then examine and talk about what they found. Wear appropriate attire for walking in the woods and bring a basket for collecting. Meet at the parking lot, next to the playground, across from the Redbud Trailhead. Questions should be directed to the park office at 660.665.6995.

This program gives attendees the opportunity to learn new outdoor skills through active participation. WIN events are being held in four state parks in 2026. Each event covers a different combination of skills and activities and includes classes taught by women intended to provide the opportunity to learn by doing. All individuals are welcome. Registration is required for these events, and there is a fee for each program. On the website, find the listing for the type of WIN event desired and click on the green box below the listing. Then, click on the green "Sign up!" button to register. Registration open and close dates are listed on the registration website. All slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
