Oxandale and Morris Selected as Final GLVC Athletes of the Week
Truman Track and Field’s Sophie Oxandale and Jacob Morris were both selected as the GLVC Athletes of the Week in the final selections before the conference outdoor championships.
Oxandale owns both the Truman indoor and outdoor 800-meter records. She last earned Athlete of the Week honors, Feb. 15.

Morris picked up his ninth career Track and Field weekly honor, his third outdoor award this season and fifth during the academic year. Nationally, He was the winner and conference champion in the men’s hammer throw on the opening day of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, May 5. He bested his school record in the event with a winning mark of 61.51 meters. That mark moved him into the top 10 in Division II for the hammer throw. Morris was also named the Male Field Athlete of the Year.
