Truman Website Search Tips
The Truman website search is currently powered by a Google Search Appliance. The Google Search Appliance is a special server purchased from Google and located in McClain Hall. The appliance runs a special version of Google's search software, which allows ITS to control what pages are indexed and what search results are returned.
Because the Truman website search is powered by a Google Search Appliance, you can use many of the same techniques that work on http://www.google.com. For example, adding "site:its.truman.edu" to your search, will only return results from the ITS website. Putting quotes around part or all of your search term will search for an exact match of that phrase instead of matching each word separately.
You can see more examples for refining your searches at https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/2466433?hl=en.
Please note that since the Truman website search only returns results from truman.edu websites, not all of the techniques will work (such as those used for searching social media).
