Personal Financial Planning: When Should You Start?

I am a student working under the direction of Dr. Jason Lin, in the Division of Business and Accountancy at Truman State University. I am conducting a project entitled Personal Financial Planning: When Should You Start?. The purpose of this project is to determine the habits and test the awareness of good personal finance strategies at different age levels.  This will help to determine if people are more or less aware of their personal finances as they get older.  It will also demonstrate the importance of educating young people in the importance of personal financial planning. Your participation in this project will involve completing the online survey.

Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. If you choose not to participate there will be no effect on any service you might receive from the University in the future. If you choose to participate, the possible benefit of your participation is becoming more aware of your personal finances and helping to educate others in the importance of good personal financial planning. Risk of completing this survey may include discomfort from disclosing some personal information; however, I want to reassure you that your responses are completely anonymous and confidential. To keep this questionnaire anonymous, it is preferred that you do not identify yourself in any way on the survey. Participants must be of at least 18 years or older.

By completing the survey, you will automatically be entered in a drawing for $50. This is a separate response from the original survey and can in no way be connected to your responses.  If you do not wish to participate in this drawing, you can email me at dcd230@truman.edu.

If you have any questions about this project please call me at (573) 268-0172, or my professor, Dr. Jason Lin, at (660) 785-4349.  Submission of the online questionnaire will be considered your consent to participate.  Below you will find the link for the survey.
