First-year students may obtain their permanent ID cards at the ID Office located in the Student Union Building, Suite 2000. The office is open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 22, and 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 24. Students need to bring a picture ID or their fall class schedule to pick up their permanent ID card. First-year students are expected to have their ID cards by lunch Aug. 24.
Student parking decals for students who did not pre-register their vehicles will be available at Parking Services located in the Public Safety Building. The cost is $50 per academic year. The park-and-save decal is available for $15 per academic year, which allows a student to park in selected lots. Students can always upgrade to a blue or green decal by paying the $35 difference. The Public Safety Building will be open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Aug. 22. Students can also purchase decals from the cashier window in McClain Hall. New and returning students are invited to attend the Activities Fair from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 2 on the Quadrangle. Organizations, departments and outside vendors will display the services they have to offer to students. Contact the Center for Student Involvement at 785.4222 or csi@truman.edu for more information.
SAB is sponsoring comedian Roy Wood Jr., at 7 p.m. Sept. 2 in Baldwin Auditorium. Admission is free with a Truman ID.
The Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce Retail Merchants Committee will be sponsoring a New Student Welcome Sept. 10 in downtown Kirksville from 5-8 p.m. Food will be served from 5:30-7 p.m. Truman students who show their current ID will receive free food. Those without an ID may purchase food at the concession stand. There will be several bands performing and area businesses and organizations will have informational tables with product displays and samples. Other sponsors include AT&T, A.T. Still University, the Truman Bookstore, Hidden Treasures, Vintage Book Shoppe and PR Intervals. For more information call the Chamber office at 660.665.3766.
