Soccer Earns Multiple Honors
Luke Payne, men’s soccer, was named second team All-LGVC by the Great Lakes Valley Conference for his performance during the 2023 season.
Payne played and started in all 16 matches for the Bulldogs, scoring four goals and giving out four assists. He scored in three straight games against St. Cloud State, Upper Iowa and Quincy, and scored his fourth against William Jewell. Payne assisted two of Truman’s goals in a 3-0 win against Southwest Baptist and added two more against Lewis and UINDY in the GLVC Tournament.
Truman’s women’s soccer won the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award, with Nathan Grewe from the men’s team and Casey Hansen from the women’s squad winning the individual sportsmanship awards.
