Moriss, Telep and Weltha Place at Nationals
Truman student-athletes Jacob Morris, Natalie Telep and Ellie Weltha all placed at the 2023 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Pueblo, Colorado, May 25-27.
Morris placed eighth in the men’s discus throw. His fourth attempt was his best, going 53.18m. His first attempt went 52.25m, second was 51.11m and third was 51.82. Morris finished the championships on the All-American team in men’s discus.
Morris also placed 13th out of 19 competitors in hammer throw. His first throw was his best, going 59.60m. His best hammer throw this season was 61.51m, which placed him ninth in the nation in the event.
Telep placed 18th out of 21 competitors, throwing the javelin 39.89m in three attempts.
