MoDOT Seeks Community Support
The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking input from communities regarding unfunded transportation needs.
MoDOT has outlined a seven-step process to determine priority projects and is at step three which is prioritizing needs. Factors considered include safety, traffic volume and asset condition data to help select the highest priorities within a MoDOT district boundary.
For Adair County, there are two important projects for evaluation and study to improve Highway 63.
Tier 1, the unfunded project is adding additional lanes, shared 4 lanes, from north of Kirksville to the Iowa line. See page number 10 Northeast District Schuyler County.
Tier 2, the unfunded project is a safety improvement study along the alternate route. See page number 20 Northeast District Adair County.
