The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) selected Emily Wood and Cassie Smith to the All-Midwest region teams. Wood was a first-team selection and Smith garnered second-team honors.

Wood was second in doubles among regional players with her school-record setting total of 22, which also ranked third among all Division II players. She was also ranked among the region leaders in batting average, RBIs, runs scored, slugging percentage, stolen bases and total bases. She was a second team all-region pick last year. In addition, Wood garnered second team honors on the College Sports Communicators Daktronics all-region squad.

Smith was fourth among all regional hitters in batting with a .418 average. She collected 74 hits on the season and broke the school record for consecutive games with a hit at 22. She was ranked among the regional leaders in runs scored, stolen bases and toughest to strikeout. This is Smith’s first all-region selection.

The Midwest regional team comprises the top players voted on by coaches who are members of the NFCA and reside within either the Great Lakes Valley Conference, Great Midwest Athletic Conference or Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
