Morris Wins Discus for Third-Straight Year, Named Field Athlete of the Year

Senior thrower Jacob Morris won the men’s discus for the third-straight outdoor season and was named the Field Athlete of the Year for the second-straight year.
 
Morris led right out of the gate with an opening mark of 53.94, then improved on that score with a toss of 55.59 in round three. He unleashed a mark of 56.34 in the second round of the finals to secure his third-straight championship in the event.
 
In the javelin, Morris grabbed the bronze medal on his final throw. Missouri S&T had the top three spots entering the final throws and Morris went 54.89 to move into third place. He scored 23 of the Bulldogs’ 45 team points resulting in a sixth-place team finish.
