Truman Track & Field Among Nations Top Academic Programs
The Truman Track and Field teams were both among the top academic teams in Division II this past season as ranked by the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Bulldogs also had nine individuals earn recognition as USTFCCCA All-Academic.
This past year both the men’s and women's squads had the fifth-best cumulative grade-point average in Division II. The men's team had a 3.46 GPA, while the women’s team had a 3.70 GPA. The following student-athletes earned All-Academic honors: Hayden Long, Jacob Morris, Lexi Henrikson, Jaylynn Martin, Addie Mathis, Sophie Oxandale, Alayna Pipkin, Natalie Telep and Ellie Weltha.
To earn All-Academic honors a student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25, completed at least 24 semester hours and have achieved an automatic or provisional qualifying mark for either the indoor or outdoor season. The Bulldogs are coached by Leslie Hardesty and assisted by Collin Nurenberg and Tanner Johnson.
