Carr Earns Player of The Week Honors
Peyton Carr, football defensive back, was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference defensive player of the week following Truman’s 25-20 victory against Southwest Baptist, Oct. 15.
Carr led the top-ranked defense in the GLVC with a game-high 11 tackles, six solo, while also making two tackles for loss. He and Garrett Linn combined on the only quarterback sack in the game when they brought down SBU signal caller Copper Callis for a four-yard loss on third and eight at the Truman 12-yard line with the Bulldogs clinging to an 18-14 lead with under two minutes left to play. Carr was also credited with a quarterback hurry earlier in the drive to force an incomplete pass and bring up a second and 10 from the Truman 43.
