Barry Poyner, professor of communication, served as Parliamentarian at the Indiana State Teachers Association Annual Conference at Nolansville, Ind., April 27.

Softball player, Christa Reisinger, has been named to the Schutt Sports/NFCA DII Player of the Year Top 25 for the third-straight season. Reisinger was also awarded second team All-American and Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Division II Championship. Emma Walbert was named Freshman of the Year and third team. Alyssa Hajduk joined her teammate in being awarded third team and Adrienne Compton was named second team. Mackayla Gordon was named as Truman’s James R. Spalding Sportmanship nominee while the entire squad won the Sportmanship Team Award.

Jesse Krebs, professor of music, served as a guest artist at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky., April 28. He worked with four WKU clarinet students in a master class on solos by Sutermeister, Crusell and Weber and coached a student in quartet. Krebs also performed a guest clarinet recital which included Vinivio Meza’s “Dos Melodias,” Poulenc’s “Sonata for Two Clarinets,” Andrew Hannon’s “Two Lost Loves,” Mauricio Murcia Bedoya’s “Columbian Dances” and the world premiere of Man-Ching Donald Yu’s “Transformations” which was composed for him.
