More Than Half Of All Truman Student-Athletes Named Academic All-GLVC
A total of 228 Truman student-athletes were among the record 2,584 honorees named Academic All-Great Lakes Valley Conference by the league.
The Academic All-GLVC honor is bestowed upon student-athletes who meet a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 during at least two semesters at the institution and compete in one of the league-sponsored sports.
Truman was well above the GLVC average per-school mark of 160 honorees.
In addition to the 228 Bulldogs named All-Academic, a total of 20 student-athletes maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA. Those 20 were part of the 52 percent increase of 179 4.0 GPA student-athletes across all 16 GLVC member schools.
Nine of Truman’s sports had more than 60 percent of their rosters named Academic All-GLVC led by softball (80 percent). Women’s track (70 percent), men’s cross country (70 percent) women’s tennis (66 percent), women’s swimming (66 percent), women’s soccer (65 percent), baseball (64 percent) and men’s soccer (64 percent) were among the leaders among their peer teams across the league.
In total, more than half of all Truman student-athletes (53.2 percent) were named Academic All-GLVC, which is up from the 208 student-athletes from a year ago.
