Truman Swimmers Earn All-American Honors in Final Meet as Bulldogs

In their final collegiate swim meet, seniors Meg Heveroh and Emily Traube each earned a pair of All-American honors at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships, March 11-15.

Traube broke her own school record in the prelims of the 200 freestyle swim and earned a spot in the national championship race with a time of 1:48.70, March 13. She placed seventh, finishing in 1:49.80. Traube then earned a night swim with the 10th-fastest time in the 100 free (49.96); she set a new personal best in the event by finishing second in the B-Final and 10th overall with a time of 49.76, March 15. She was 22nd in the 50 free, touching the wall in 23.13, March 12.

Heveroh started her meet by placing 10th in the 1000 free, March 12. Then, after swimming a personal record in the 500 free on Friday at 4:57.33, she finished in the top 12 in the longest race of the championships, the 1650 free, with a time of 17:02.41 in her final collegiate mile swim.

A top-eight finisher earns First Team All-America honors, while those who place ninth through 16th are named Honorable Mention All-Americans.
