Huping Ling, professor of history, has organized and served as chair and discussant of two panels at the Association for Asian American Studies 2007 Conference held April 4-7 in New York City. The titles of the these panel sessions were “Emerging Voices: The Experiences of the Underrepresented Asian Americans” and “Negotiating Space: New Asian American Communities.” She also presented the third panel “The Great Third Coast: How Teaching in the Midwest and South Challenges Asian American Studies.”
Jim Turner, associate professor of business administration, attended the “Climate Change & Energy Policy Forum” April 4-5 at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis. About 200 representatives from Missouri businesses, utilities and academia attended.
