  • Streamline Campus Dining with the Everyday App


    Everyday is a free app that allows faculty, staff and students to access additional on-campus dining services with the tap of a button. 

    The Everyday app allows users to order ahead from Starbucks or Einstein Bros for convenience in between classes or meetings, utilize dining dollars or contactless payment options to purchase meals and actively view dining location hours and menus with ease. Individuals with food allergies, sensitivities or other restrictions can set their dietary preferences to reflect their personal needs. 

    For any questions regarding on-campus dining or the Everyday app, individuals can contact Truman Dining Services through their online feedback form or contact them in their office in the Student Union, Room 2102, or at 660.785.4197 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

    The app is available for download from the Apple App and Google Play stores.
  • Alumnus Returns as First Executive in Residence of 2026


    The School of Business and Professional Studies will host alumnus Jason Ramthun as the Bentele/Mallinckrodt Executive in Residence, Jan. 27-28.

    Ramthun is the community bank president of Missouri for Peoples National Bank. He has been in the banking industry for more than 25 years, and part of the Peoples National Bank team since 2015. Ramthun considers his main accomplishment at Peoples National Bank to be working with customers to grow their businesses. He has been awarded with several honors over the years, most notably as one of the 40 People to Know Under 40 in 2016 as named by The St. Louis Business Journal.

    When he is not at Peoples National Bank, Ramthun enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering his time with many different groups, including the St. Louis Sports Commission, Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis, Immaculate Conception Dardenne Prairie and others in the area.

    Ramthun graduated from Truman in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He was a member of the men’s basketball team from 1996-2000. He was part of the 1998-99 team that went to the Final Four and was inducted into the Truman Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009. 

    Ramthun and his wife Molly have three children. In his spare time he enjoys being with his family and golfing.  

    While he is on campus, Ramthun will host a fireside chat from 4-5 p.m. Jan 28 in Violette Hall 1000 with a reception to follow. Additionally, Ramthun will make appearances in multiple business and economics classes to discuss banking, economic supply and demand and his broad success in the banking industry.
  • TruScholars Summer Research Program Accepting Proposals


    The Office of Student Research is accepting TruScholars proposals for the eight-week summer 2026 term from June 1-July 24. 

    Applications for research and creative scholarship grants may request up to $5,750 and may include a $3,500 maximum student stipend, a $1,750 maximum mentor stipend and up to $500 for supplies.

    To be eligible for funding, students must; have full-time enrollment in undergraduate studies, be mentored by a Truman faculty member, have good academic standing, plan to graduate no earlier than the fall 2026 semester and have completed their freshman year by May 2026.

    Applications are due by 5 p.m. Feb. 25. Additional information about the TruScholars program is available on the Office of Student Research website. Individuals with any other questions regarding the TruScholars program should email ewiles@truman.edu or osr@truman.edu

  • Ofstad Scholar to Discuss French Immersion Education


    Dr. Kelle L. Marshall, professor of French studies and coordinator of French at Pepperdine University, will be the next visiting Ofstad scholar to present at Truman.

    Marshall will host “Step Away From the Culture: The Ideological Decoupling of Language and Culture in Canadian French Immersion Education” at 5 p.m. Feb. 4 in the Baldwin Little Theatre. 

    Marshall’s research is focused on instructed second language acquisition, linguistic identity and language ideology in a one-way French immersion (FI) program in New Brunswick, Canada. She will discuss six educators' perspectives on the relationship between French language, Francophone culture(s) and cultural identity within French-language communities of practice.

    Hosted by the Department of English, the Ofstad Visiting Scholar Program is available thanks to the generosity and vision of Odessa Ofstad in creating Truman’s first-ever endowed chair. The Ofstad Visiting Scholar Program brings renowned guest writers and scholars from around the world to the Truman campus. During their stay, these talented scholars offer a range of workshops, lectures and readings.
  • Foundation Scholarship Applications Open Feb. 9


    The Truman State University Foundation 2026-27 Foundation Scholarship applications will open Feb. 9.

    Recipients must be enrolled full-time during the term of the scholarship to receive scholarship funds. Applications can be submitted and revised at any time prior to the March 6 deadline. To apply, log in to TruView, go to the Student Tab, Scholarships, Financial Aid & Loans then Foundation Scholarship Application.

    These scholarships are available thanks to the private gifts of alumni and friends of the University.

  • Activities Fair Provides Opportunity for Involvement

    The Activities Fair will take place from 12-5 p.m. Jan. 28 in the Student Union Building. This event is an excellent opportunity for students to find organizations to join on campus. A full list of organizations can be found here

  • Friends of the Gallery Party Honors Lori Shook

    The Truman Art and Design Department will host the 22nd Friends of the Gallery Party fundraiser from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 13 in Ophelia Parrish 1114. This year the event will honor Lori Shook, who was the campus planner before passing away in July 2025. A $50 donation per person is suggested.   • Bailey Receives Bulldog Forever Award from NEMO Alumni Chapter

    The Northeast Missouri Alumni Chapter recognized Donna Bailey, instructor emerita in mathematics and alumna (’76, ’84), as the 2026 Bulldog Forever award recipient. Bailey was honored for her dedication and positive spirit for Truman and the alumni chapter.

  • Sendón Completes Publication in Collaboration with Spanish Army

    Óscar Sendón, associate professor of Spanish, completed a three-year collaboration with Ejército, the leading publication of the Spanish Army. He was responsible for the section titled “Autobiografías de soldados de la Monarquía Hispánica,” in which he published selected reviews of military autobiographies of Spanish soldiers from the 16th and 17th centuries. These autobiographies offer firsthand accounts of their authors’ experiences and share numerous structural and thematic features with other genres, such as picaresque narratives and travel journals.   • Daschke Presents at Missouri Health Symposium

    Dereck Daschke, professor of philosophy and religion, delivered a talk on "Psychedelic Assisted Therapies in the U.S.: From Public ‘Threat’ to Promising Treatments" at the 2025 Missouri Health Symposium, Dec. 5, in the Student Union Building. Sponsored by the University of Missouri Extension, A.T. Still University and Truman State University, the theme of the symposium was “The Science and Practice of Holistic Health.” It brought together professionals and community members for a daylong conversation on integrative approaches to health and well-being.
