- Truman Announces List of Spring Graduates 
 Truman has released the names of students who graduated following the spring semester.
 The names of the graduates can be found online at truman.edu/honors/truman-state-university-announces-spring-2020-graduation-list.
 Students who graduated with honors will have that distinction noted by their names. Cum laude recognizes those who earned a grade point average between 3.50-3.74. Magna cum laude is for graduates with a grade point average between 3.75-3.89. Summa cum laude honors graduates with a grade point average above 3.9.
 Master’s degree recipients will have that distinction noted by their names.
 The list is organized by state and hometown. Hometowns are based upon the permanent address given to the University by the student. Students who have requested a directory hold on their information will not be included on the list. Any questions regarding student eligibility for inclusion on the list can be directed to the Registrar’s Office at 660.785.4143.
 While degrees were awarded at the normal time, Truman’s commencement ceremony was rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is now planned for 7 p.m. Aug. 1 at Stokes Stadium in Kirksville.
- Website to Host Information for Fall 
 With the COVID-19 pandemic causing more questions than usual about the fall semester, the University created truman.edu/fall2020 specifically to provide updates for students, families, faculty and staff.
 Truman will conduct classes in the fall. The goal at this point is to resume in-person classes, following all of the appropriate safety guidelines. Since the pandemic is a developing situation, the University is preparing for multiple scenarios and will be ready to make any necessary adjustments should the need arise.
 Specific details on the fall semester are expected to be announced by mid-June. All communications regarding Truman’s return to campus will be posted on the fall 2020 webpage and emailed directly to enrolled students. The page is also easily accessible directly from the truman.edu homepage.
 Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the University had been posting all relevant information on the emergency site trualert.truman.edu. While that page still has links to fall updates and previous coronavirus messaging, it has primarily returned to an emergency information source.
 A page specific to COVID-19 updates can now be found at truman.edu/coronavirus.
 Truman’s highest priority for returning to in-person classes is the safety and well-being of the entire campus community. All appropriate guidelines will be followed to reduce the risk of exposure and contraction of COVID-19 for students, faculty and staff.

- Save the Date: Racial Injustice and Inequity Town Hall 
 The Truman Virtual Town Hall regarding racial injustice and inequity President Thomas mentioned in her email to students, faculty and staff, will take place at 6 p.m. June 24.
 The purpose of the town hall is to take stock of where we are currently as a University and gain a shared understanding of what we must address moving forward. This understanding will permit us to determine the meaningful, sustained, accountable ways Truman can be the change we wish to see.
 Details will be shared as they become available.
- Offices to be Relocated 
 During the month of July, The Language Company, Writing Center, Publications Office and the Center for Academic Excellence will be moved to new campus locations. Starting this summer, Kirk Building will be taken offline. Due to the building’s age and current upkeep expenses, the University determined it would be more cost effective to relocate the few remaining offices it housed. Updated office information includes:

 Although the building remains closed, library staff are available by phone, chat, email or Zoom consultations. Service hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and the library website is always available at library.truman.edu.

 For people in Kirksville, items can be requested using the library catalog, and staff will have them ready for pick up by 10 a.m. the following business day. Details can be found on the library’s COVID-19 Response page, along with other library information.

Scholarship Opportunities
- Purdy Emerging Leaders Scholarship 
 The Missouri Scholarship and Loan Foundation will offer the Purdy Emerging Leaders Scholarship, named in honor of Allan Walker Purdy.
 Purdy was born in 1914 on a farm near Macon and was the first in his family to attend a four-year college. He worked in the University of Missouri’s College of Agriculture before becoming the campus’s first director of scholarships and student financial aid.
 The scholarship is designed to provide merit-based scholarships to emerging leaders who are outstanding students and who have a need for additional resources for higher education. The scholarship amount can vary based on an applicant’s circumstances. The general range will be $1,000-$5,000 based on expected family contribution (EFC), unmet need and other factors.
 Applicants must be a Missouri resident, typically a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA, a U.S. Citizen, attending a Missouri public four-year university or the State Technical College of Missouri, and be a sophomore, junior or senior in college. Deadline to apply is June 30, 2020. Applications should be submitted online through Scholarship Central at moslf.org.
