Arbor Day Tree Planting in Honor of Environmental Recognition

In celebration of earning a 2013 Tree Campus USA recognition, Truman will be hosting a tree planting ceremony and reception at 11:30 a.m April 4 on the grass area on the southwest side of Magruder Hall.

Tree Campus USA, a national program launched in 2008 by the Arbor Day Foundation and Toyota, honors colleges and universities and their leaders for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation.

To obtain this distinction, Truman met five core standards for effective campus forest management: a tree advisory committee, a campus tree-care plan, dedicated annual expenditures for its campus tree program, an Arbor Day observance and student service-learning projects.
