Wright Named GLVC Offensive Player of the Week
Junior midfielder Mackenzie Wright was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference/Athletic Solutions Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Wright scored one goal in each of Truman's two conference victories Sept. 16 and 20, finishing with four points across 75 minutes. She took three shots and placed two on goal as the Bulldogs defeated Illinois Springfield and Lincoln. Wright scored the game-winning goal for the victory over Illinois Springfield, entering the match during the first half and converting a pass from Sam Busch at the 39:12 mark. During the game against Lincoln, Lizzy Peng assisted Wright's opening goal at 43:41, giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 halftime lead.
The two goals were Wright's first of the season and helped Truman improve to 3-2-3 overall and 2-1-2 in GLVC play. This is Wright's first career GLVC Offensive Player of the Week award.
