Women’s Basketball to Host Summer Training Camps

The women's basketball program will host a full lineup of summer camps for 2026, offering development opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels.

From young athletes just learning the fundamentals to high school players looking to compete in front of college coaches, there is a camp designed for everyone this summer.

The Youth Skills Camp is the perfect starting point for young players looking to grow their game. Taking place at the Student Recreation Center, campers in grades three through eight will receive hands-on instruction from Truman women's basketball players and coaching staff. Drills and skill development are broken down to their most fundamental levels, pushing each player to improve while deepening their love for the game. Walk-ins are welcome.

Three participation options are available to fit every schedule and can be found at trumanbulldogs.com/sports/womens-basketball. All options offer a $20 early registration discount for those who sign up before May 1. Check-in for all sessions begins at 8:30 a.m. Commuter and residential campers should bring swim attire for the beach party. A camp store with snacks and drinks will be available, so campers are encouraged to bring a small amount of spending money.

Team Camps will take place June 19-20 at Pershing Arena. The camp is built for high school students in grades nine through 12 that want to test themselves against quality competition. Coaches register their team first, and players register afterward. Teams must have a minimum of eight players, with eight to 10 players being the most effective roster size.

The two-day option includes five games at $323 per team, while the one-day option offers three games at $165 per team. Each team receives one free coach. Residential, commuter with meals and commuter without meals options are available for both players and coaches, with pricing varying accordingly. T-shirts, meals (depending on registration type) and dorm housing for residential participants are all included.

Schedules will be released by June 1, and campers should check in at least one hour before game time. Register by May 1 to guarantee t-shirts arrive on time. Players with food allergies who are registering for meals should email Coach Briggs directly at abriggs@truman.edu. Coaches must register before players can complete their registration.

Elite camps will take place June 21 and Aug. 16. The Elite Camp gives high school players in grades nine through 12 a chance to be challenged and evaluated directly by college coaches in a competitive setting. The June session is conducted at the Student Recreation Center, while the August session takes place at Pershing Arena. Both run from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. with check-in beginning at 10 a.m.

The camps costs $101 per session. Every camper receives instruction from Truman omen’s basketball players and coaching staff, a campus tour, a camp t-shirt and lunch. Walk-ins are welcome at both sessions. Attendees should register by May 1 for the June camp and by July 1 for the August camp to guarantee t-shirts arrive in time.

The Guard Camp and Post Camp run back-to-back Aug. 15 at Pershing Arena for high school players who want position-specific development. The Guard Camp runs from 11:30 a.m.-1:30p.m. with check-in at 11 a.m., and the Post Camp follows from 2:30-4:30 p.m. with check-in at 2 p.m.

Each session is $49, but players who register for both camps in the same transaction save $10. Players attending both sessions should plan to bring their own lunch. Walk-ins are welcome. All campers receive instruction from Truman women's basketball players and coaching staff, along with a camp t-shirt. Attendees should register by July 1 to guarantee their shirt arrives before camp.

All camps maintain a 2:10 staff-to-camper ratio, with players grouped by ability, age and experience. An athletic trainer will be on-site at all sessions. Players should bring their own basketball shoes, athletic clothing and accessories, though they do not need to bring their own ball.

Per NCAA regulations, all Truman women's basketball camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.
