Alpha Sigma Gamma Promotes Breast Cancer Awareness Week
The women of Alpha Sigma Gamma will be hosting events beginning Oct. 13 to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Week.
Bras decorated by various organizations will be displayed on the Quad from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 13. Organizations will have a chance to decorate their own bras from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 13 in the Student Union Building 3201.
A Health Fair will take place from 12-4 p.m. Oct. 14 on the Quad with information tables pertaining to women’s health issues set up by numerous organizations, including the American Medical Student Association, GlobeMed, the Student Public Health Association and the Women’s Resource Center.
Speaker Pam Newman from the Susan G. Komen Foundation will be discussing breast cancer awareness and research, as well as the foundation itself, at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 in Georgian Room A of the Student Union Building.
All proceeds from the week will go to the foundation.
The week’s events will conclude with a vigil for those who have lost their lives to breast cancer, as well as families and friends, at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16 in front of Kirk Memorial by the eternal flame.
