Free Ham Radio Classes Offered

The Northeast Missouri Amateur Radio Club (NEMOARC) will be offering a free* amateur (ham) radio technician class. This is the entry-level rating for FCC-licensed amateur radio. The class will meet for eight or nine weeks on Tuesday evenings, 6:30-9:30 p.m., starting Sept. 12, at the Adair County Health Department (1001 South Jamison St.).
*The class is free, but students will need to buy the textbook, ARRL Ham Radio License Manual 3rd Edition, available from the ARRL ( or Amazon. To become licensed, the student will have to pass the FCC licensing exam (given as part of the class), for which there is a $15 fee per test.
