Spirit Day

#PurpleFridays on campus are catching on and people are starting to notice! Students, faculty, staff, and alumni nation-wide are donning their Truman purple on Fridays to celebrate the Bulldog Spirit. While #PurpleFriday happens every week, there are two Fridays a year that stand above the rest.

Since 2011, we’ve celebrated Truman State University National Spirit Day twice a year. Be sure to mark your calendars for the next National Spirit Day on Friday, April 4, 2014. This year, the Truman Alumni Association has partnered with the Truman Student Government’s Purple Friday Committee to make National Spirit Day even bigger! Think you have the most Bulldog spirit? Send us your photos:

•    Tweet them to @TrumanAlumni
•    Email them to bulldogforever2@truman.edu
•    Go to alumni.truman.edu and fill out the online submission form

Photos will be displayed on our website and Facebook pages. As always, everyone that sends in their photos will have a chance to win some FREE Truman swag. Photo contest categories include: Most Spirited, Spike’s Purple Pups (for all of our furry friends), and Lil’ Truman Tykes (for our younger Truman fans). Make sure to tell your friends and family, too. They’ll want to join in on the fun!

Our fall semester (October 4, 2013) winner was Meghan who literally screamed her love for Truman at the top of a mountain. Now that’s dedication. Her purple pride was rewarded with the ultimate Bulldog swag package! This year’s fall National Spirit Day is Friday, October 3, 2014.
