David Gruber, professor of philosophy, received the Tacey Award from the national office of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) May 9 in the SUB Spanish Room. Tom Guild, chair of the Assembly of State Conferences of AAUP presented the award to Gruber.

According to the AAUP Web site, the Tacey Award is presented to an individual for outstanding service to a conference during a number of years. Conferences nominate individuals and the executive committee of the Assembly of State Conferences decides who should receive the award. If the committee decides a nominated individual should receive the award for that year, only one award is given nationwide.
