University Survey Tool Updated

Due to licensing changes by the vendor and tight budgets for the University, IT Services had not been able to update the tool for several years. The vendor, Checkbox Survey, Inc., made it possible for us to upgrade to the necessary license this past year, and we were able to upgrade the software during the May 2017 Interim.

The new version features a cleaner, updated user interface, improved reporting, and several new question types. One of the most beneficial new features is the use of Responsive Design practices, which means that surveys display well on all devices from smart phones to desktop computers.

Because the new tool was an upgrade to our existing system, no existing surveys or responses were lost in the upgrade process, and the total downtime during the upgrade was only a few hours.
