Waller, Cantrell Earn Health Care Innovation Award

Cindy Waller, chair and associate professor of nursing, and Brie Cantrell (’01) have been selected by the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (VUSN) for the 2026 Linda D. Norman Award for Innovation in Health Care. The pair earned the award for their work in revolutionizing rural nursing education by securing diverse clinical placements, resulting in a scalable model for practice-ready professional preparation. Waller and Cantrell will be presented with their award during the VUSN Reunion, Oct. 16.
