Boyd Honored with Induction into Missouri Sports Hall of Fame

Michelle Boyd, head athletic trainer, will be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame at their enshrinement ceremony Nov. 20 at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia, Missouri.

Boyd has served as the Bulldogs head athletic trainer since 2002 and has been a member of the Truman community since 1994. She was recently enshrined into the Mid-America Athletic Trainers Association in March and has been a member of the Missouri Athletic Trainer’s Association (MoATA) Hall of Fame since 2016.

In 2016 she was named the NCAA Division II Head Athletic Trainer of the Year by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA). She has served as the president of MoATA and on the Foundation Board for the NATA, as well as the Board of Directors for the Mid-America ATA.

Boyd and her Truman athletic training staff were instrumental in guiding the Bulldogs through the 2019-20 COVID-19 pandemic and will now be joining more than 1,200 Missouri sports personalities, teams and programs that have been previously inducted by the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.
