Truman has earned recognition as a 2017 Tree Campus USA school.

Tree Campus USA, an Arbor Day Foundation program, honors colleges and universities for effective campus forest management and for engaging staff and students in conservation goals.

To obtain this distinction, Truman met five core standards for effective campus forest management: a tree advisory committee, a campus tree-care plan, dedicated annual expenditures for its campus tree program, an Arbor Day observance and student service-learning projects. More information about the program can be found here.

Truman has been recognized as a Tree Campus USA school since 2014.
