Smith Publishes Chapter in Educational Guidebook

Lucy Smith, assistant professor of history, recently published the anchor chapter in “Learning Through George Washington: A Guide for Educators Students, and Citizens with University of Virginia Press.” Her chapter, titled “A Bite Out of History: George Washington’s Dentures and Teaching with Objects,” explores the complicated and at times unsettling history of George Washington’s dentures and the 18th century trans-Atlantic and domestic tooth trade.
