Faculty to Discuss Newly Published Book on Religion and Spirituality

Terry Shoemaker, assistant professor of philosophy and religion, will give a talk based on his recently published book, “Spiritual Resurgence: Cultural Transformations and the Spiritual but not Religious,” at 6 p.m. Oct. 29 in Baldwin Hall 114.

In his talk, Shoemaker will explain what the future of religion looks like once spirituality and spiritual explorations are taken seriously. Sharing some of the main conclusions found in his new book, he will detail current trends in religion and spirituality in the United States, read excerpts from the new book and invite participants into the conversation during a question and response time. Light refreshments will be provided.
