Morris Begins Indoor Season with New School Record
Thrower Jacob Morris kicked off his senior indoor season by breaking his own school record in the men’s weight throw as Truman track and field teams competed at the Mel Tjeersma Classic hosted by Northwest Missouri State University. Morris was the only competitor to throw more than 19 meters in the first round. His fifth throw was his best as the implement flew 19.92 meters, which broke the meet record and his own school record. The Truman mark was 19.88 meters. It was also an NCAA provisional distance. He finished second in the shot put with a distance of 15.97 meters.
