Health Department Sponsors Vaccine Incentive Program
The Adair County Health Department is coordinating a COVID-19 vaccination incentive program with gift cards to local Hy-Vee, Walgreens and Walmart store. This program was created by the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services and is for those who get a COVID-19 vaccine or were vaccinated by the Adair County Health Department.
Once this incentive program has 10 new participants, the Adair County Health Department will host a community drawing for residents who received a first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine from Dec. 2020 through Dec. 31, 2021 at the Adair County Health Department or at a mass vaccination event sponsored by the health department at The Crossing in Kirksville.
Qualifying residents who want to register for the drawing should use the “Contact Us” form on the health department website. Make sure to include name, telephone number and write in the “Message” portion to be entered in the community drawing.
Qualified residents without internet access can pick up a form from a box outside the clinic entrance at the Adair County Health Department at 1001 S. Jamison Street. Once completed, it can be dropped off inside during office hours, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Four winners will be drawn and each will receive a $250 gift card to their choice of the four participating stores. With every 10 new participants in the incentive program, the health department will conduct another community drawing.
Those ages 12 and older who initiate a vaccine at the health department after Nov. 1 will receive a $50 gift card to one of the four stores for the first dose and a $50 gift card for the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines. Those who get their second vaccine after Nov. 1 at the health department will receive a $50 gift card for completing the two-dose process. The incentive program does not include those receiving third doses or boosters.
