Irving Earns Second GLVC Offensive Player of the Week Award

Sophomore running back Madden Irving has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference/Athletic Solutions Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Irving rushed for 200 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries during Truman's 38-14 victory against Quincy University, Oct. 17. He averaged 9.1 yards per carry and added a 14-yard touchdown reception to finish with 214 yards from scrimmage. His individual yardage total surpassed the 208 yards produced by the entire Quincy offense.

The Maryland Heights, Missouri, native caught his touchdown pass from Dylan Hair during the first quarter, giving Truman a 10-7 lead it would not relinquish. Irving added a one-yard touchdown run during the fourth quarter to extend the Bulldogs' advantage to 35-14. His performance helped Truman rush for 250 yards and finish with 412 yards of total offense. Irving's 200 rushing yards were nearly half of Truman's offensive production. He recorded 43- and 41-yard runs and averaged more than nine yards across his 22 carries.

This is Irving's second career GLVC Offensive Player of the Week award. He previously received the honor Sept. 28 following Truman's 29-27 victory at Indianapolis.

In that game, Irving rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns and caught a game-winning 75-yard touchdown pass. He scored all three of Truman's second-half touchdowns and converted four first downs during the Bulldogs' final eight-minute possession.
