DPS Receives Autism Sensory Kits
The Truman Department of Public Safety recently took possession of two autism sensory kits to assist officers when interacting with a nonverbal person. The kits were ordered for DPS by Tim Polley, pastor with First Christian Church in Kirksville and a certified law enforcement chaplain. Polley recently established the Mary Blauvelt Autism Sensory Kit Program for First Responders in honor of his late mother. The kits were ordered from the Autism Hero Project based in Illinois.
