Senior Justin Moeller was the champion in the Great Lakes Valley Conference decathlon as the Bulldog scored a career-best 7,000 points while taking first in five of the 10 events on the second day of the GLVC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Moeller won three events on the first day, claiming wins in the long jump, high jump and 400-meter dash, the latter being a personal best time of 50.30.

Moeller won the 110-hurdles with a time of 15.12 seconds, scoring the most points of any of the 10 events at 835. He would watch teammate Hayden Long win the discus while Moeller took fourth. He then breezed past the field in the pole vault, clearing 4.40 meters.

Moeller was second behind Long in the javelin and then closed with a strong final lap in the 1500-meter run with a PR time of 4:53.68 to score 7,000 points for the first time in his decathlon career. He is the eighth NCAA Division II decathlete to hit the 7,000-point total thus far this season, giving him an opportunity to advance to the national championship meet later in May. He will find out for certain following the conclusion of all the conference and last chance meets.
