ATSU to Show Film on Mental Health Awareness

ATSU will show the film “Do No Harm: Exposing the Hippocratic Hoax” from 4-6 p.m. Dec. 12 in the Gutensohn Clinic, Mehegan Classroom.

The event is hosted by Margaret Wilson, dean of ATSU, and is open to all, especially those who are community physicians, health care professionals, school counselors, behavioral health counselors and emergency response personnel.

The film was produced by Robyn Symon, a two-time Emmy Award winner and writer, producer/director and editor. It focuses on the importance of self-care, mental health awareness and the national epidemic of caregiver distress. Though the film highlights physicians and student doctors, the message is relevant to all who serve as caregivers or provide support across the health care profession.

John and Michele Dietl, parents of the late Kevin Dietl, a 2015 ATSU graduate, will share their personal story to raise awareness about suicide among doctors and medical students.
