FLATS Host Meeting to Discuss Project
Forest Lake Area Trail System members will host an open house from 5-7 p.m. April 25 at the Adair County Annex Building.
The meeting will serve to begin planning for the full paved trail that will connect downtown Kirksville and Thousand Hills State Park.
Phase one, a 0.6-mile section within Thousand Hills, was completed in 2015. FLATS will soon begin construction of a 0.7-mile section on the south side of Missouri Street.
FLATS members will share information about the project and collect feedback and recommendations for the next steps.
The open house was organized with guidance from the U.S. National Park Service’s Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program.
